Casio has been around for quite some time. Since its inception in April 1946 by Tadao Kashio, the company has continuously produced innovative products. I quickly read the history section on Casio’s website (drinking coffee) and found a picture of GG-B100-1A9, the first fully electric compact calculator conceived in 1957. Take a look at the size of the thing! Who in his right mind called it compact, is a damn desk! Launching its first watch in 1974, Casio entered the wristwatch market at a time when the watch industry had just discovered digital technology. This only yells at me that from the beginning Casio is not a late or early adopter, they are innovative.
Built-in Calculators
It simply shows how fast we have advanced during the last half century. Now we have atomic digital clocks with built-in calculators, barometers and solar technology that feel comfortable and comfortable on our wrist. I was cleaning my room last Monday and found my old Casio Illumination. It was put in one of my garbage drawers. I think everyone has a garbage can where all the things you don’t want to throw in the trash end. Ironically, in my opinion, they are like a look at the past that reminds of the past cleanings of the bed. To my surprise, the battery still had life and I hadn’t wasted much time.
Digital Watches
So what is the Casio product range? I think Casio has hit the spot with its range of digital watches. They have a clock for each category of person. Whether it’s the sporty guy who spends his weekend climbing mountains in the Himalayas or just an informal general Joe who drinks beer watching repetitions of Family Guy (like me). In addition, each watch category comes with features that you can use or not. The development of the Casio G Shock watch represents a very interesting story, which I will discuss briefly.
Casio G-Shock Resistant Watches
Casio G-Shock watches are the pinnacle of resistant watches. We do not realize how much time and effort Casio has devoted to developing this type of watch. Not to mention the time spent testing the product. Well, it’s not that people should worry anyway. They are really a work of genius. Casio designers wanted to design a digital watch that never broke. Guided by a “Triple 10” development concept, the design teams sought a watch with 10-meter free fall resistance, 10 bar water resistance and a 10-year battery life. Empirical clocks are considered elements that can be broken for some reason. Perhaps due to the early development of the watch that focused mainly on the function, which is to keep time, and the resistance of the watch was not really a priority within the design specifications. This meant that previous watches were fragile pieces of jewelry that, when dropped or placed under water, simply broke.
Casio G Shock Technology
During the development life cycle of Casio G Shock technology, 200 experimental prototypes were constructed for resistance tests. I think that is amazing! That is a lot of prototypes. For me, this seems like the Casio boys didn’t have a stone image of what the final G Shock product watch would look like and work like. Although, innovation is a challenging business that generally involves a great deal of trial and error. In addition, the structural re engineering of the parts took approximately two years. The fruits of this epic achievement brought a revolution in the design of time pieces.
Casio’s Flagship Watch
By always using the latest technology and continuing to redesign the conventional watch function, the G Shock brand has become Casio’s flagship watch product.
